Death Valley hit 130°F this weekend, one of
the hottest temperatures ever recorded on Earth.California officials asked people to conserve power as the state
battles extreme heat and fires, with another fire in Oregon
(Bootleg Fire) damaging power lines connecting the 2 states.

Over 100 baby birds in Oregon threw
themselves from their nests to escape extreme heat in June, even
though they were not ready to fly.At least 13 had to be euthanized, say rescuers. Scientists say the
heatwave would have been “virtually impossible” without climate
change. pic.twitter.com/8NS0GH1XAl— AJ+ (@ajplus)

Here’s a look at the latest forecast
high-temperature probabilities for @DeathValleyNPS!
Death Valley likely won’t be reaching its world record temperature
of 134°F this weekend, but has about a 1 in 4 chance of reaching
130°F both Saturday and Sunday.#CAwx

I saw two dead young birds during the
heatwave that had done this. We are looking at a future where this

(Death
Today, we helped dispatch 42 firefighters,12
fire engines & three tenders to
#GrandviewFire &
#BootlegFire in Oregon. Fire resources were combined from 12
agencies across the state. This ensures our state is prepares for#wawildfire while supporting our neighbors to the south.

(Beckwourth Complex
Tim
