〔即時新聞／綜合報導〕2021年諾貝爾獎和平獎得主今（8日）揭曉，由菲律賓女記者雷薩（Maria Ressa）與俄羅斯新聞編輯穆拉托夫（Dmitry Muratov），以表彰他們為維護言論自由所做的努力，這是民主與和平的先決條件。
諾貝爾和平獎委員會主席賴斯-安德森（Berit Reiss-Andersen）表示，民主和新聞自由面臨愈來愈不利的條件，雷薩與穆拉托夫在這個世界為了理想，挺身而出，為所有新聞記者的代表。
賴斯-安德森表示，獲獎者瑪麗亞·雷薩（Maria Ressa）利用言論自由來揭露她的祖國菲律賓濫用權力、使用暴力和日益增長的威權主義，她在2012年創立了從事調查性新聞工作的數字媒體公司，批判性地探討菲律賓總統杜特蒂有爭議且兇殘的禁毒運動。
賴斯-安德森指出，穆拉托夫（Dmitry Muratov）幾十年來一直捍衛俄羅斯的言論自由，他在1993年創立「Novaja Gazeta」報社，以職業誠信、事實為基礎進行新聞報導，其他俄媒很少提及俄國社會可受公評的事件，穆拉托夫的報社成為重要訊息來源，自該報創立以來已有6名記者遇害，但穆拉托夫對新聞仍堅持獨立報導，捍衛記者權益。
賴斯-安德森說，自由、獨立和基於事實的新聞有助於防止權力濫用、謊言和戰爭，言論自由和信息自由有助於確保公眾知情；兩位獲獎者除了獎牌之外，也將獲得1000萬瑞典克朗（約新台幣3193萬元）獎金。
2021年諾貝爾獎自本月4日開始頒發，每天頒發一個獎項，目前已頒發醫學獎、物理獎、文學獎、和平獎，將在10月11日頒發諾貝爾經濟學獎。
