科恩補充說，他與克拉克剛剛出席了高點大學（High Point University）的畢業典禮，周一通過了機場安檢。

科恩在發給《今日美國》的電子郵件中寫道：“他每年都會參加高點大學的畢業典禮、新生入學典禮和老兵節典禮。這是一次很棒的經曆!”
他介紹道：“到現在為止，我已經和克拉克一起工作了16年。我13歲(作為一名誌願者)和他在一起時，他3歲。我們算是一起長大的。”
每家航空公司對於在商業航班上攜帶動物有不同的政策。科恩說，當他和克拉克一起旅行時，他總是乘坐西南航空的飛機，他們“非常感謝”該航空公司願意搭載這隻鷹。
西南航空在一份聲明中表示，該航空公司對某些動物組織(如世界鳥類保護區)有“特殊豁免”，允許動物在其航班機艙內旅行。
