“凱撒醫療集團華盛頓研究中心”(Kaiser Permanente Washington Research
Institute)新冠病毒疫苗臨床實驗計劃研究團隊，16日總共為四位身體健康的誌願者完成疫苗注射。
美聯社報導指出，自從新病毒引發的疫情從中國迅速蔓延到全球各國之後，“凱撒醫療集團華盛頓研究中心”研究團隊在破紀錄的時間裏，快速研發出疫苗。新冠病毒疫苗研究計畫主持人莉莎·傑克森(Lisa
Jackson)指出：“我們大家現在都成了對抗新冠病毒的團隊成員，每一個人都想在緊急情況下貢獻一己之力。”
報導指出，首位接受疫苗注射的誌願者，是在西雅圖一家小型科技公司擔任營運經理的43歲婦女珍妮佛·哈勒(Jennifer
Haller)。哈勒接受注射之前接受訪問，談到疫情肆虐對當地民眾的影響時表示：“對我來說，這是一次非常難得的機會，可以做點事情。”
育有兩名子女的哈勒說，孩子們覺得媽媽參加疫苗臨床實驗“滿酷的”。
注射完成之後，哈勒笑容滿麵地說：“感覺很棒。”在哈勒之後，其他三名誌願者也依次完成注射。46歲的微軟公司係統工程師尼爾·布朗寧(Neal
Browning)說，小小年紀的女兒為他誌願參加這項實驗感到光榮。
這項實驗計劃共有45名誌願者參加，誌願者們將在相隔一個月的時間裏，先後接受兩劑疫苗注射。
