美國非裔男之死引發大規模的上街抗議行動，但卻也發生不少搶劫放火事件，紐約曼哈頓蘇荷區更是有數十家高級商店慘遭洗劫。
美國非裔男子佛洛伊德（George
Floyd）遭白人警壓頸致死，讓全美民眾義憤填膺上街抗議，但卻也發生不少搶劫放火事件，紐約繁華地帶更是有數十家高級商店慘遭洗劫，警方透露這是有組織的犯罪集團以示威活動為掩護並作案。
據《CNN》報導，劫匪從曼哈頓中城往東行搶，包括川普大廈附近的第五大道和麥迪遜大道的高級購物區，並向南延伸到先驅廣場（Herald
Square）乃至梅西百貨大樓，犯罪者同時還會縱火砸窗，或是在建築物外到處噴漆。
紐約警察局巡邏隊長皮查多（Fausto
Pichardo）表示，曼哈頓蘇荷區有50多間商店被搶，光是他們查獲的1輛轎車內就有1.7萬美元（約新台幣51萬元）的戰利品。皮查多還說，這些搶匪拿著洗衣袋裝滿贓物，同時還攜帶4至5個運動鞋盒大搖大擺地在街上走過，許多人都搶得包袱滿滿，這肯定是有組織的行為。
紐約警察局反恐和情報部門負責人米勒（John
Miller）指出，有幾百個人在某個時間點、某個地方進行犯罪活動，但相關部門沒有發現，這可以說是他的責任，警方應該是錯過了一些情報。
米勒透露，截至6日上午為止，紐約警察局已逮捕1049人，這些犯罪者70％是在曼哈頓落網，警方不認為搶劫和抗議活動有關，而是犯罪集團利用示威的機會犯案。總的來說，因為佛洛伊德之死上街的有3種人，分別是和平抗議者、無政府主義者和搶匪。
