The bloom of a giant and stinky Sumatran flower nicknamed the “corpse flower” because it smells like a dead body is drawing huge crowds to a Southern California botanical garden.
一朵巨大發臭聞起來像屍體而有「屍花」之稱的蘇門答臘花朵綻放了，吸引大量人潮到南加州一處植物園。
The bloom of the Amorphophallus titanum plant began Sunday afternoon at the San Diego Botanic Gardens in Encinitas. By Monday morning, timed-entry tickets had sold out, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported.
這株植物「巨花魔芋」在恩西尼塔斯市聖地牙哥植物園從週日下午開花。《聖地亞哥聯合論壇報》報導指出，截至週一早晨，定時入場門票已全數售鑿。
More than 5,000 people were expected to visit the garden by Tuesday evening.
截至週二晚間，預計有超過5000位民眾造訪這間植物園。
The bloom of the “corpse flower” lasts just 48 hours and during its peak it emits a putrid odor of rotting flesh to attract carrion beetles and flesh flies that help its pollination process. （AP）
