一名救援人員說，黎巴嫩搜救隊今天在貝魯特住宅區一棟傾倒建築物的瓦礫堆中偵測到生命跡象。這棟建築在貝魯特附近港口8月4日發生大爆炸後倒塌。
黎巴嫩國家通訊社報導，搜救隊已在滿目瘡痍的貝魯特傑美茲（Gemmayze）地區一棟遭摧毀的建築物下偵測到移動跡象。
救援人員畢塔（Eddy Bitar）在現場對記者表示：「這些（呼吸和脈搏訊號）與溫度感測器意味存在生命的可能性。」
貝魯特港區8月4日因2750噸硝酸銨大爆炸受到重創，約190人喪命，另有6000多人受傷，約莫30萬人無家可歸。
媒體報導，倘若仍有人還活著的跡象很明顯，搜救工作可能需要耗費數小時。
