紐約時報報導，31歲的華裔女警吳依芳加入紐約警隊5年，平日表現良好，曾獲得多次獎勵。她與前女友分手3周，仍然能進入前女友的住處，周三下午她進入前女友位於布魯克林的住處，發現前女友與新的女性情人同床共枕。吳依芳怒火中燒，拔槍朝床上2人開槍。

吳依芳的前女友受傷，新的情人則傷重不治。警方表示，前女友報案時，警方聽到吳依芳怒吼：“這就是你最後得到的”！
