這起竊案發生在5月26日淩晨，一名男子踹破麵包店玻璃門後小心翼翼地進入，但他似乎並不擔心被發現，在進店後沒有趕緊搜括財物，而是坐在座位發呆，彷彿是在等待麵包店員工來服務他。
大約坐了15分鍾後，男子離開座位但仍然還沒行竊，他去找了水桶和拖把，開始清理起被他破門而入時弄亂的環境。愛瑪表示，他的清潔工作做得並不好，但至少很努力，“老實說，我喜歡這種至少還有禮貌的罪犯。”
這名竊賊在店內逗留了一個多小時，最後拿了6個巧克力口味的杯子蛋糕離開，而且還用店內手機自拍，把自己的長相留給業者。愛瑪事後已經報案，並表示當警察看到竊賊的行為時，笑得樂不可支。
