美國加州一名男子湯普森（Mitcho
Thompson）上月底確診新冠肺炎後，幾天過後又感染猴痘，是美國同時感染當前全球兩大傳染病的首起病例。

湯普森是一名大麻銷售員，在6月下旬新冠病毒檢測時呈陽性，幾天後在背部、腿部、手臂和頸部出現紅色疹子，醫生診斷為感染猴痘病毒。

史丹佛大學傳染病專家溫斯洛（Dean Winslow）表示，一個人有可能同時感染兩種病毒，並稱湯普森的運氣“非常糟糕”。

猴痘疫情持續蔓延全球，美國猴痘病例累計達2593例，位居全球第二，僅次於西班牙的3125例。
